At Island Bikeworks on Pine Island in Bokeelia, Florida - we take pride in treating all of our customers and their bikes with professionalism and attention to detail. We get the job done right, the first time - and get you riding again as quickly as possible. We enjoy pulling off the impossible, and we sweat the small stuff - we get our biggest bang out of seeing the smiles on our customers' faces as they try out their newly serviced bike for the first time.

We work on all makes and models of standard bikes, recumbents, 3 wheelers, electric bikes, and some other odds & ends as well :)

We have 2 full time mechanics and 1 junior mechanic on staff at all times, as well as a friendly front desk staff and sales staff. We listen carefully to what you are wanting to do with your bike, and make honest recommendations and suggestions for the best way to accomplish your goals.

Services we offer

Below is a list of some of the services we perform on a regular basis:

Extreme Detailing: we detail clean your bike all the way down to the sprockets and spokes and then wax and lube the bike.

Tube and Tire Installation: whether you’ve got a leak in your tube or you’ve worn the tread off your tires, we take the time to fully inspect the condition of your tubes, tires, rims, and rim strips, perform needed replacements, and get you back on the road!
Full Tune-Up: we go through your bike from top to bottom checking for irregularities, safety issues, and condition of all major systems. We adjust your brakes, your shifting mechanisms, clean and lube your chain and sprockets, adjust tire pressure, lube your cables, and perform a quick clean on the entire bike.
Bike Builds: did you order a bike online that came in a box? We perform assembly on standard bikes, recumbents, 3 wheelers, electric bikes, and all sorts of fun toys.
Accessory Installation: did you purchase accessories from us or online and need them installed? We do everything from rear racks and bags, to phone holders, bells, bars, seats, seat posts, pedals, cassettes, sound systems, alarms, and so much more!
Wheel Truing: does your wheel have a bend or warp in it, or broken/missing spokes? It's time to get it in for a truing job before it's too late and it can't be saved. We install and repair spokes, tru wheels to get them straight again, and also stock new rims of all types.
Brake Adjustments: just need your brakes to stop rubbing or don't have adequate stopping power? We work on all types of brakes including v-brakes, disc brakes, cantilever brakes, and the likes.
Bottom Bracket Service: is your bottom bracket making grinding noises and it's difficult to pedal? Most likely your bearings need to be replaced or serviced, and in some cases a new bottom bracket should be installed.
Crankset Upgrades: wanting to move to a different set of gearing - adding or changing sprockets or need a whole new crankset? We've got your covered.
New Chain Installation: we can check your chain for wear and recommend the proper chain to get you back on the trail quickly.
Replace Cables & Shifters: if your shift or brake cables are worn out or showing through the housing - it's time to get them replaced. Having new cables can make a big difference in how the bike performs! Are your shifters sticking or non-operational? We can either fix or replace depending on the situation.
Headset Service: are your handlebars tough to turn, or too loose and wiggly? This could mean that your headset bearings need to be replaced, lubed, or your headset and bars need adjusting. We maintenance and replace headset bearings and adjust bars and clamps.
And Much More: it's impossible to list all of the things we have done to bikes - from installing child seats to raising handlebars and extending cables, custom building tall bikes - we've seen it all. We've even repaired an air mattress or two :)
